Dear colleagues, it is with a heavy heart I pen this editorial. The sad and untimely demise of our editorial board member Dr Shermin Hashir has been a shock to us. My condolences and prayers are with the grieving family members.

Journal of oral and biomedical sciences has been able to deliver excellent scientific contents as original research, case reports and reviews to the dental community. The focus has been to inform our faculty on the recent developments in the field of dentistry. I would like to thank the editorial board members, reviewers and authors for the valuable contributions to the success of the journal.
