Past few years have been a challenging period for healthcare community especially for dental fraternity. The onslaught of Covid-19 pandemic created an unprecedented crisis in our daily practice, but we were able to raise to the occasion to provide quality healthcare to the needy. The reason for the fast and ready adaptation of the dental practice during this period can be attributed to the easy availability and dissemination of evidence-based knowledge within our professional community. The translation of scientific knowledge from labs to clinical practice was made possible through scientific journals and literature. The easy accessibility of information through electronic media is a boon but also a bane due to its lack of scientific reliability and accuracy. These types of information even though can be an infotainment for a lay person but is often useless for a practising dental surgeon. This brings us to the hard reality that scientific information conveyed through peer reviewed journals can only be the ones utilized with confidence in clinical settings. This underscores the importance of reliable peer reviewed scientific publications in the progression of our noble profession. I am extremely proud that our editorial team was able to bring out this edition of Journal of oral and biomedical sciences with peer reviewed articles which will enhance the knowledge of academicians and clinicians of dentistry alike. I take this opportunity to thank the management and Principal of Annoor Dental College and Hospital for supporting this academic venture. I would also like to thank the authors and the reviewers for their valuable contribution.
